Basin angle gear basic types and applications

2022-08-11

The full name of the Basin angle gear is the active and passive gears of the differential.

Single stage reducer
The single-stage reducer is a driving vertebral gear (commonly known as angular gear), and a driven vertebral gear is connected to the drive shaft, rotates clockwise, the tangential gear is attached to its right side, and the meshing point rotates downward, and The wheels move in the same direction. Due to the small diameter of the driving bevel gear and the large diameter of the pot angle teeth, the function of deceleration is achieved.

Two-stage reducer
The double-stage reducer has an additional intermediate transition gear. The left side of the driving vertebral gear meshes with the bevel gear of the intermediate gear. The basin angle gear has a small diameter spur gear coaxially, and the spur gear meshes with the driven gear. In this way, the intermediate gear rotates backward and the driven gear rotates forward. There are two stages of deceleration in the middle. Since the double-stage deceleration increases the volume of the axle, it was mainly used in the matching of vehicles with low engine power in the past, and was mainly used in construction machinery with low speed and high torque.

Wheel reducer
In the dual-stage final reducer, if the second-stage deceleration is carried out near the wheels, it actually constitutes an independent component at the two wheels, which is called a wheel-side reducer. The advantage of this is that the torque transmitted by the half shaft can be reduced, which is beneficial to reduce the size and mass of the half shaft. The wheel side reducer can be of planetary gear type or composed of a pair of cylindrical gear pairs. When the cylindrical gear pair is used for wheel side deceleration, the upper and lower positional relationship between the wheel axis and the half shaft can be changed by adjusting the mutual position of the two gears. This type of axle is called a portal axle, and is often used in cars that have special requirements for the height of the axle.

Type
According to the gear ratio of the main reducer, it can be divided into two types: single-speed type and two-speed type.
Domestic automobiles basically use a single-speed main reducer with a fixed transmission ratio. On the two-speed main reducer, there are two transmission ratios for selection, and this main reducer actually plays the role of an auxiliary transmission.
