Cylinder liner specification installation precautions

2022-11-21

 (1) Clean the burrs, rust and dirt on the cylinder liner and counterbore of the body before installation.
Do not apply paint or glue on the lower surface of the cylinder liner support shoulder, or on the upper surface of the counterbore of the engine block, because if the cleaning is not in place or the surface is painted with other substances, the position of the upper plane of the cylinder liner boss will be too high. When tightening the cylinder head bolts on the platform, it will cause the cylinder liner support shoulder to break.

(2) Carefully check and measure the size of each part before installation, especially the size of the matching part. After the cylinder liner is pressed into the body, you should also carefully check its shape tolerance and position tolerance, check the thickness of the cylinder gasket, and ensure the size after installation, otherwise Any size and tolerance exceeding the requirements of the installation specification may cause the cylinder liner to break.

(3) Before installing the cylinder liner, carefully check the water sealing ring of the cylinder liner and the matching clearance between the water sealing ring and the cylinder bore of the body.
The water sealing ring should have good elasticity, uniform thickness, and no damage on the surface.
In order to ensure its sealing performance, it is generally required that the sealing ring protrude from the arc surface of the groove edge by 0.3~0.5mm after it is installed in the cylinder liner sealing groove. If the gap is too large, it is difficult to seal, and the fit is too tight. The deformation of the cylinder liner causes the liner to rupture.

(4) Under normal circumstances, due to the function of the sealing ring, the undercut groove should be dry and water-free, but if the fit is too loose, cooling water will seep into the undercut groove, which is close to the combustion chamber, cylinder The temperature difference between the inner and outer walls of the sleeve is very large, which will generate greater stress and cause the cylinder liner to break.
