Key points of deep hole machining operations

The coaxiality of the center line of the spindle and tool guide sleeve, tool holder support sleeve, workpiece support sleeve, etc. should meet the requirements;
The cutting fluid system should be unblocked and normal;
There should be no center hole on the processing end surface of the workpiece, and avoid drilling on the inclined surface;
The cutting shape should be kept normal to avoid straight band cutting;
The through-hole is processed at a higher speed. When the drill is about to drill through, the speed should be reduced or the machine should be stopped to prevent damage to the drill.

Deep hole machining cutting fluid

Deep hole machining will generate a lot of cutting heat, which is not easy to spread. It is necessary to supply sufficient cutting fluid to lubricate and cool the tool.
Generally, 1:100 emulsion or extreme pressure emulsion is used. When higher processing accuracy and surface quality or processing tough materials are required, extreme pressure emulsion or high concentration extreme pressure emulsion is selected. The kinematic viscosity of the cutting oil is usually selected (40 ) 10~20cm²/s, the cutting fluid flow rate is 15~18m/s; when the machining diameter is small, use low-viscosity cutting oil;
For deep hole machining with high precision, the cutting oil ratio is 40% kerosene + 20% chlorinated paraffin. The pressure and flow of the cutting fluid are closely related to the hole diameter and processing methods.

Precautions for using deep hole drills

The machining end face is perpendicular to the axis of the workpiece to ensure reliable end face sealing.
Pre-drill a shallow hole on the workpiece hole before formal processing, which can play a guiding and centering role when drilling.
In order to ensure the service life of the tool, it is best to use automatic cutting.
If the guide elements of the feeder and the support of the activity center are worn, they should be replaced in time to avoid affecting the drilling accuracy.
