Possible reasons for abnormal noise of timing gear

2021-03-09

(1) The gear combination clearance is too large or too small.
(2) The center distance between the crankshaft main bearing hole and the camshaft bearing hole changes during use or repair, becoming larger or smaller; the crankshaft and camshaft center lines are not parallel, resulting in poor gear meshing.
(3) Inaccurate processing of gear tooth profile, deformation during heat treatment or excessive wear on the tooth surface;
(4) Gear rotation--The gap between the gnawing gaps in the circumference is not uniform or the undercut occurs;
(5) There are scars, delamination or broken teeth on the tooth surface;
(6) The gear is loose or out of the crankshaft or camshaft;
(7) Gear end face circular runout or radial runout is too large;
(8) The axial clearance of the crankshaft or camshaft is too large;
(9) The gears are not replaced in pairs.
(10) After replacing the crankshaft and camshaft bushes, the gear meshing position is changed.
(11) The camshaft timing gear fixing nut is loose.
(12) The teeth of the camshaft timing gear are broken, or the gear is broken in the radial direction.
